Call 4 Rain Coat - Send a Child to School

Dear Supporters,

I am sure you all have noticed that the Rainy Season has arrived. Rain is exciting to some but to others like the JAAGO Foundation children life will become harder. As you all know, these children don't want to sacrifice their classes at any cost but maybe they will be forced to by nature. This is why the JAAGO Foundation would like to provide our kids with rain coats which will help them to come to school during this tough time. To make this possible we need your HELP!

Each Rain Coat will approximately cost:

BDT 200
AUD 4.5
CAD 4
USD 3.5
GBP 2.2

I am sure this amount is less then the amount you spend in one day when you go out with your friends to hang out or have some food. If you sacrifice the amount of one day, you can send a children to school and help them to have a better future. Will you help these underprivileged children to rebuild this nation?

We need 85 rain coats to support all the children. Please even ask your friends, family and relatives to donate BDT 200 to support one child with a rain coat and help them to come to school.

If anyone wishes to donate please give the money to

Iffat Zerin, Sponsorship Manager.

Account Name: JAAGO Foundation
Account: 110.101.130072
Swift Code: DBBL BD DH
Bank Name: Dutch Bangla Bank Limited
Country: Bangladesh

In total we need

BDT 17,000
AUD 382.5
CAD 340
USD 297.5
GBP 187

Thank you for your support of these amazing children.

I have become a really big fan of your organization, however this post almost made me sad. I believe that you had good intention and what you are doing I could never do, in terms of the commitment and efforts. I also believe that it is not your place to judge people who can afford to "sacrifice" something of their own to fund your projects. I am from Canada, and that does not mean I am in a better place than one of your foundation's kids. I strongly believe the way to attract sponsors and volunteers is not by making them feel guilty about their spending trends, but instead by emphasizing the importance of the needs of these children. I mean not to offend you or anyone else, but to me the Jaago foundation is about connecting all the Bangladeshis in the world to underpoverished children and people for that matter who live in Bangladesh and not about comparing who has a better life.

Hello Shani,

Thank you so much for your wonderful suggestion. I just want to know where did we try and make anyone feel guilty? If so please that was not our intention. Please accept my apology. We would love to here from you again.

jaago foundation is really taking very effective steps to remove poverty as well as illiteracy. In past time, poor people could not even dream about sending their children into a English medium school. But jaago has made it possible for them. Recently i visited a concert organized by jaago in association with lost children ,giving one pair clothes .It will really help poor people specially in this winter. These steps are highly appreciated & keep it up. I would love to b a part of jaago foundation & help deprived people.............

I believe we are both intellectual people, so believe me when i say this, my comment was not about you or me but about this amazing foundation and desperate need for more sponsorships. I feel i may have some on too strong and thats because I think you are doing an amazing job and I just want you to do better, and yes, part of that means no judgements about people. you had a whole paragraph in this post that would make an average person feel guilty. Quoted from your post "I am sure this amount is less then the amount you spend in one day when you go out with your friends to hang out or have some food..." and it goes on. You don't have to be honest with me or this blog or anything, but be honest with yourself, did you truly not mean that paragraph to guilt people into sponsoring? What you say reflects in your foundation. There is one thing we all as human being fail to recognize is that guilt makes people more likely to ignore and turn away from the real problem than for them to do something about it. I mean how many times do our parents guilt trip us about things and how many times do we actually stick around to listen, just as an example. I know I felt guilty reading this and I hope you'll atleast think about this before you write your next post. I am becoming very passionate about this foundation and I am spending my time whenever I get the chance to see what I can do for these children, because it is important to me. But I would not like myself a lot if I was part of something that was judgemental about me and about people who may be better of than these children, because there are always people who are worse off and better off. Like I said before, we should aim to connect people all over the world with the real issues and I have faith we will see a lot of changing attitudes without having to compare them with these children.

It is only this post that gives me a little uneasy feeling and well when i first read it, it made me want to leave and ignore it because the problems are so real and scary, you know. Anyway, I just wanted to mention that your other posts were great and I am looking forward to the next one, and I hope you atleast think about my advice when you do write it.
